Cristina Moneo

Born in October 26th, 1968, in Covarrubias, in the Burgos province of Spain. She studied Arts in the University of the Basque Country, obtaining the degree in 1993. She lives in Asturias from 1995.   

She complemented  her artist education with different courses: engraving, painting and ceramic (Casa de Cultura of Gexto, Antón Museum of Candás, Viña Lithography Center, etc.),  

She had her first exhibition of engravings and paintings in 1992 in the City council of Covarrubias. From 1992 to the 2005 she exhibited her works in Bilbao, Lugo, Valladolid, Oviedo, Gijón, etc.

In the 2006 she exhibited in the Gallery Mediadvanced of Gijón and at the Absenta Gallery of Leon. In 2007, at the Loft Gallery of Valladolid and at the Paloma 18 Gallery of Burgos. In 2008 she exhibited engravings and paintings at the “El arte de lo imposible” Gallery of Gijón and engravings at the Maes Gallery of Madrid. In 2009 she participated with paintings in the Collective Exhibition 12 Months - 12 Artists at the Texu Gallery, Oviedo. In 2009 at the Amaga Gallery of avilés she exhibited her Graphical Work in a solo exhibition call “Submerged Dreams”. And in Gijón, at the Espacio Líquido Gallery exhibited paintings in the collective exhibition “Differents to the cube” En 2011 she had the exhition "All is on your Mind" in thel C. M. de La Arena of Gijón.

From 2003 to 2006 she participates in the International Fair of Engravings of Madrid, with the Maes Gallery (Madrid) and ACuadros (Madrid).

Her works or art had been selected in different Art contests: 

Engraving: 2002, International Mini Print of Cadaqués (Girona). 2006, Engraving Contest of San Lorenzo del Escorial  and in 2007 and 2009 National Contest  of Engraving of Valladolid obtaining the third prize in both calls.

Painting: 2000, first First Painting Contest of the Commercial Center of San Agustín (Gijón), 2002, 2003 and 2005: Painting contest of Villaviciosa (Asturias), 2003, Painting Contest of Luarca and in 2008 in XV the Women Painters Contest of the East of Asturias

From 2007 the National Library (Madrid) conserves several units of its engravings and in 2009, the Provincial Delegation of Valladolid receives one of her graphical works.
